One of the leads did stay with me during the incident, and was very calm, despite not being able to help much from being on her own horse. Even once we were walking with the group, my horse would typically buck her head back every time I pulled the reigns, which made me nervous she could throw me off. I was able to get back on her once the saddle was tightened but my horse was apparently unhappy about being separated from the pack and galloped the entire way to the group, despite my pulling on the reigns and trying to get her to walk. I held my horses reigns until help came to take her back and buckle her saddle again, but she was very fidgety and I was worried I would have to let go of her to stay out from underneath her. Only when the ride started did the saddle move again and slip all the way to the side, sending me off and into the mud. My saddle was wiggly even before the ride but I was assured to just push down on one side and the saddle would even up, which it did. Unfortunately I was given a horse that was not trained and who was exceptionally nervous. On a positive note, I’m thankful that when I let the staff know of my daughters hesitation, they did give her a kid-friendly horse. Please be careful on this ride! I was really looking forward for this vacation experience to share with my 8 year old daughter, who is an inexperienced rider and who was very nervous ahead of the ride.
